Ty Caton Vineyards' commitment to excellence begins in the Caton Vineyard, where winemaker Ty Caton sustainably farms the hillside fruit used in his Moon Mountain District wine.

As one of the few exclusively estate producers in Sonoma Valley, Ty works with the grapes from soil to glass, enabling him to make extraordinary wines that showcase the vineyard.

Ty Caton Vineyards was established with his first release, the 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon. The Caton Vineyard is rich with an interesting history, having been the site of a winery and vineyards founded in the 1920s and ran consistently through prohibition and into the 1940s. The original winery, crush-pad, and main home still stand today and are paid tribute to our Caton Cabernet Collection labels. In the ’60s, the land was owned by The Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco and ran as a summer camp. The Ballfield Syrah and The Barracks Cabernet Sauvignon honor this history in their names. In 1997, Ty began developing the vineyard, and the Caton Vineyard as we know it today was founded. Ty has been farming the vineyard ever since producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Bordeaux Blends, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Rose, and Syrah.

Since its inception, Ty Caton Vineyards wines have received critical acclaim in world-renowned wine publications and competitions, including many Best of Class honors. As a grape grower and winemaker, Ty strives to produce the “wow factor” by making bold, beautifully structured wines and are a true representation of the vineyards they come from.
